The MHHD Women’s Health Program aims to
promote women’s health across the lifespan. The program participates in
activities that increase awareness of women's health issues among all
Marylander’s including the public, researchers, educators, policy makers
and health care professionals. The MHHD Women’s Health Program works
cooperatively with other programs within DHMH to address women’s health
issues.
The MHHD Women’s Health Program:

Collects and catalogues research and data,
best practices, resources, and other information on women’s health
disparities issues

Plans and implements outreach and
educational activities

Disseminates information and advocates for
women’s health throughout the state of Maryland

Provides educational materials on specific
women’s health issues (limited availability)

Foster partnerships with organizations and
groups such as the
Maryland Commission for Women, the Women’s Health Promotion
Council,
Region III Offices of Women’s Health, and the federal
Office on Women’s Health.
