professional schools; and (2) implementing a comprehensive evaluation
program aiming to achieve system change in the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene to increase the focus by the state and local health
departments on reducing health disparities.
The
Workforce Diversity Initiative activities focus on:
-
Developing partnerships
with health professions schools
-
Collaborating on issues
of recruitment; data collection and monitoring and cultural
competency
training
-
Developing and
conducting on-going awareness campaign
-
Serving as a
clearinghouse for national and state-based resources
